Roses at the Coast |

Humidity:
High humidity creates an ideal environment for the spread of fungal
diseases, such as black spot and powdery mildew. To prevent this...
Select rose varieties that are more disease-resistant.
Spray roses regularly with pesticides, for example "Rosecare".
Fertilise often with 8:1:5 or 3:1:5.
Give each rose between 20 and 30 litres of water per week.
Most coastal soils are sandy by nature which is not ideal for roses.
Therefore to improve your soil, add compost. This will improve the
water-holding capacity.
When watering roses at the coast, avoid salty or brak water, use only
rain or municipal water.
Continuous wind tends to dry out the soil so, water regularly!
Where plants are exposed to salt-laden sea air, spray down regularly
with water, preventing the leaves and blooms from burning.
